I got a comment from Matthew so I thought I share it here instead because my answer suddenly became really long.

Hi there I stumbled across your blog a little while ago. It's great to read about you guys enjoying your life together in Sweden. My girlfriend is Swedish and we're currently living in Sydney but are thinking about potentially moving over to Goteborg in a year or so. I was wondering how Chris has found the move to Sweden? Especially how it has been working over there, as I here it's pretty tough getting a job over there! Looking forward to hearing from you

Hi Matthew! So nice to hear from people in the same situation with long-distance relationships. It's a special situation, sometimes difficult when you have one family on the other side of the world but fantastic to have two countries to call home! Chris really enjoys living here in Sweden and we lived here now for almost 5 years. First in Stockholm which was so much easier for jobs and now in south of Sweden where he found it harder to get a job. Took a bit of time but now he got one that he's really happy with. He went to school for a bit because it was so hard to get a job.The job-situation in south of Sweden is very tuff right now with a lot of big companies cutting down on their staff. But in the bigger city's like Gothenburg and Stockholm it's easier. But otherwise he found a lot of new friends here, playing soccer and getting in to our Swedish traditions! He's learning Swedish much quicker here in south of Sweden because people is not so comfortable with speaking english here. In Stockholm it was english all the time. Not good if you want to learn. He got an Aussie friend in Gothenburg, living there with his Swedish girlfriend, so it's good for him to have him close by sometimes when he need some Aussie talk :)
At the start it was a bit difficult for him with the cold swedish winter, but now he looks forward to the snow and saying that he likes it when it's a bit colder. It's funny because when we're in Australia for visits in the summer he can't handle those days with 40-45 degrees heat anymore :) So he changed to a Swede a bit :) But off course he misses a lot about Australia and our family and friends there is very very tuff to be so far away from. He got a big family with lot's of family-gatherings so we miss out on so much down there. It's the downside to the hole story for all of us with long-distance relationships, nothing new there :)
Gothenburg is a lovely city! So I wish you and your girlfriend good luck in whatever you decide to do! If you have any other questions I'll be happy to answer them to. Take care!

I miss Australia!

Just want to jump on the next plane and go visit everyone. I'm in a stage now when I miss Australia a lot and everyday I think about different options when we can travel back for a visit.  Right now I don't have a really good plan but it's in my mind everyday. I get a lot of flashbacks with memories from Australia everyday and tonight I started to look true our photos from our time there. Millions. Well time will come when we will spend more time there. Maybe even move back to Australia one day. Who knows only time will tell. Sorry the photos is in a weird order but it's just so hard moving them around for some reason. Time to relax and give the internet cord to my brother :) Monday evening here in Sweden and Chris is still working. Lot's of overtime this week, he's strong :) Think I'm going to go for a walk with the dogs. Take care!

Efter en väldigt händelserik sommar kommer här en
liten uppdatering för dom få tappra som 
håller sig kvar på denna blogg. Nu är vi
vigda med en härlig känslosam fest
som följd. Vi har haft 25 gäster från Australien på
besök här i södra delarna av Sverige och
det är vi väldigt tacksamma för. Vi var sammanlagt ca 85 personer på
bröllopet, det blev en lyckad dag och kväll. All nervositet släppte efter kyrkan :)
Efter det har vi underhållit australiensarna, både i Sverige
och i Köpenhamn. Det har varit mycket händelserika veckor så jag får berätta
lite efterhand.

We are now husband and wife and our wedding day and night was lovely and emotional! We had 25 people travelling from Australia. Total around 85 people so it was a very good mix of people! We got thousands of photos waiting to be fixed and some to be published here!
Chris mum and dad is still here in Sweden with us until next Tuesday when the plane leaves for Australia. It's sad that it is so far away but we're always trying to be positive about it ! To be able to call two fantastic countries for home is a good deal!

Time

Tiden flyger verkligen iväg för tillfället och jag har inte haft någon tid över för att skriva här. Väldigt tråkigt  men förhoppningsvis hittar jag lite tid snart till det. Idag ska vi till IKEA och sen fira underbaraste mamma såklart.

Många släktingar och vänner i Australien har börjat boka sina biljetter nu hit till Sverige! Det känns att det börjar närma sig :)

Inbjudningskorten kom förra veckan från Australien så vi har börjat så smått att dela ut dem. Jag är riktigt nöjd med dem men vilken tid det tog innan vi bestämde oss. Det var riktigt svårt. Ska handla många  frimärken idag så jag kan skicka dem på Måndag.

Nearly there

Igår hade vi en riktig slappdag. Det regnade och åskade så det var skönt att vara inomhus och bara vila. Det har varit så mycket som har varit på gång och jag tror vi alla behöver lite lugn och ro. Nu längtar jag hem till julmyset och julförberedelserna men vi ska ju fira jul här i år så jag får försöka göra det bästa av det. Det känns inte alls som jul snart och det är riktigt trist eftersom julen är så speciell för mig. Vi åker hem till Sverige efter nyår. Igår var vi ute och åt på Chris farfars hotell med min familj och hans familj. Lisa och Jerry är hemma i Sverige nu och resten av familjen åker nu på Lördag.
Sen har vi 3 veckor kvar i Aussie och så åker vi hem. Jag saknar mina hundar så otroligt mycket. 
Nu ska vi äta frukost och se vad dagen bjuder på.

Friday night Melbourne

Chris o Jerry ar ute i Melbournes nattliv. Tanterna Ida o Lisa ar hemma och tar det lugnt. Valdigt skont tycker jag. Imorgon blir det Melbourne Zoo. Jag har massor av harliga bilder fran dagen idag. Vi akte runt hela Melbourne och Chris var turistguide. En riktigt duktig sadan. Men nu kommer iaf lite bilder fran brollopet vi var pa forra Lordagen. Chris var ju bestman sa han hade fullt upp hela dagen. Efter bloggandet ska jag forsoka sova. Det ar fullt levande utanfor och nagon som skriksjunger i nan bar. Sa det blir formodligen svart att fa nagon somn. Forhoppningsvis trottnar de snart. Godnatt

Today we've been driving around to show Lisa and Jerry Melbourne. We went to Botanical Gardens, St Kilda beach, Melbourne central, Chapel St, War Memorial, Crown Casino, Southbank. Chris was our private guide :) Time to sleep. Goodnight

Is it really Christmas soon ?

Det kanns verkligen inte som om det ar jul om mindre an en manad. Det ar juldekorationer i butikerna och lite flaggor har och var med Christmas 2010 men julkanslan ar totalt borta. Jag vill ju adventpynta, baka pepparkakor, lyssna pa julsanger, langta efter julmaten, ga pa julmarknad och allt annat mysigt som man ska gora innan jul. De har dekorerat fint i Myers skyltfonster i Melbourne sa jag bjuder pa lite bilder darifran.

Rain and Crown Casino

It's rain and clouds here in Melbourne today. And yes I like it. Yesterday was way to warm and it's great with some cooler weather. We went to Crown Casino today for some lunch and to have a look around. Crown Casino is a massive complex with restaurants, nightclubs, luxury shops, hotels and off course the big casino. I can really recommend to go there if you are visiting Melbourne.

Lisa & Jerry arrived to Australia

We went to Melbourne early this morning to pick up Lisa & Jerry from Tullamarine Airport. They came from Sweden to be here for two weeks. So they are here for our Engagement Party! This is their first time to Australia. 

Vi akte till Melbourne tidigt imorse for att hamta Lisa o Jerry pa flygplatsen. De flog fran Stockholm i Sondags och nu Tisdag morgon kom de fram till Melbourne. De flog med British Airways. De stannar i 2 veckor och ska vara har for var forlovningsfest. Vi har massor av kul att hitta pa och redan idag har vi varit runt och tagit lite bilder och tittat runt lite har. Det har varit riktigt varmt idag sa det ar skont att bilen har aircondition. Ikvall ska vi till Chris farmor o farfars hotell och ata middag och imorgon aker vi till Melbourne igen och stannar tills Sondag. 

 Hemma hos Chris mamma o pappa i Australien. Solen skiner och det har varit riktigt varmt idag.

Back on track

Finally I'm back after a bit of a break with the blog. Hopefully I will be able to do a couple of posts then and then. We have been so busy with a lot of things. We had a wedding yesterday and C was the best man. It was just beautiful. I will upload the photos soon.

Antligen ett inlagg! Vi har haft fullt upp med allt mojligt. Igar var det brollop och C var best man. Det var valdigt vackert och jag har massor av fina bilder. For Cs del var det en valdigt lang dag. Han skulle vara pa plats i The Manor tidigt pa morgonen kl 8 sen rullade det pa hela dagen. Brollopslunchen som alltid halls innan kyrkan var klockan 11. Sen var kyrkan klockan 13.30 och efter det var det fotografering pa olika platser. Klockan 18 borjade brollopsfesten. 300 gaster. Och manga olika traditioner under dagens lopp. Har slar man verkligen pa stort. Jag ska lagga upp bilder men ikvall orkar jag inte. Nu har jag dessutom skrivit alldeles for mycket. Godnatt!

Off to Melbourne

We're waiting for Pauline and Luba then were off to Melbourne. It's raining today and it's going to be bad weather this weekend with heavy rain and storm. Chris got a bucks on tonight so he's busy all day and all night :) 

Vi vantar pa Pauline och Luba sen ar det dags att aka mot Melbourne. Det regnar jattemycket idag och blaser och det ska tydligen vara daligt vader hela helgen. Det ar sa mycket gronare nu an nar vi var har sist. Det har regnat mycket mer an vanligt har vilket ar valdigt bra eftersom det var alldeles for torrt sist. Ser fram emot shopping idag i Melbourne och en Boostjuice. Forhoppningsvis har jag fina saker att visa efter Melbourne. Chris ska pa svensexa ikvall sa han kommer vara upptagen hela dagen och hela natten. De har bokat en massa galna saker sa det blir sakert skoj for dem :) Nu ar det dags att aka. 

Hot Hot Hot weather in Australia

It's been really warm today in Australia. We're going to Melbourne tomorrow for some shopping. I have to find 2 dresses, one for the engagement party and one for the wedding we're going to next weekend. It's so good to be here and catch up with everyone again. I promise to show lots of photos soon but right now I'm just to busy. 

Det har varit riktigt varmt har idag men imorgon ska det kanske bli regn och "bara" 20 grader. Vi ska till Melbourne imorgon och shoppa. Jag behover hitta en klanning till forlovningsfesten och en klanning till ett brollop vi ska till nasta helg. Jag ska lagga upp massor av bilder men just nu har jag varit alldeles for upptagen med att traffa alla eftersom det var 8 manader sedan vi var har sist. 
Nu ska vi sova eftersom vi ska upp tidigt imorgon. Godnatt! 

Arrived in sunny Australia

Nu ar vi antligen framme i Australien. Resan gick bra men den ar ju valdigt lang. Vi akte med Emirates fran London pa Mandagskvallen sen tog det ca 7 timmar till Dubai dar vi mellanlandade. Vi gick runt och tittade i affarer och strackte pa oss. Sen hoppade vi pa planet mot Australien. Det tog 14 timmar fran Dubai till Melbourne. Jag sov inte sa mycket pa planet utan tittade pa 6 filmer och laste min bok. Det var riktigt skont att landa i Melbourne och kanna den australienska doften igen. Eucaluptys traden skapar en stark doft. Det ar 30 grader idag och solen skiner sa fint. Nu ar det massor av besok som star pa schemat. Ha en harlig dag! 

We arrived in sunny Melbourne after a long planetrip from London. It took 7 hours to Dubai and then we stopped for 3 hours there. It was good to walk around a bit and stretch our legs. Then we jumped on the next plane and it took 14 hours to Melbourne. Everything went well and it is 30 degrees and sunny here in Australia. Now we're busy with family and friends. Have a great day!

Leaving on Monday Morning

We're playing Melanie Fionas - Monday Morning - packing, getting everything ready, organizing presents, looking at the rain outside, thinking that it's only 2 days left, ONLY 2 DAYS, then we're leaving to Australia. There's no better song right now. Listening to this song over and over again, laughing, dancing silly dances and just loving our life -

Tourist Visa Australia

Igår agerade jag ambassad och hjälpte alla med att ansöka om turistvisum till Australien. Ja det kändes som om jag arbetade på ambassad eller immigration office kanske :) Nu väntar vi bara på deras beslut. När jag ansökte om mitt tog det endast 24 timmar. Det är smidigt att ansöka online och det kostar ingenting. 


Yesterday I helped my family to apply for their Australian Tourist Visa. It felt like I was working at the immigration office or something :) Now we are just waiting for the decision to arrive to their email. When I applied for my visa it only took 24 hours then my visa was ready. It's great that you can apply online and also that it doesn't cost anything at all!

Pictures from Fraser Island, Australia. It's the worlds largest sand island and it's just amazingly beautiful. We were driving around in a 4wdrive on the sand and it was a true adventure. I'm so happy that i actually followed my dreams!
